Lights in the Night Sky

Lights in the night sky share an echo of admirable silence,

Where each and every source works together as an inseparable alliance.

So bright they shine lighting an infinite skyline,

Reminding us all that alas we are together stuck in a confine.

A freedom we yearn to return to in a present so bleak,

A shy question is muttered in hopes of getting the answer we all seek.

Rhythmic whirs from the technology that surrounds our lives,

As we merge to a new age looking past the normal 'nine till fives'.

Memories serve as fondness of a time we took for granted,

But we must stay strong and ensure our feet are firmly planted.

Planted in the ideology of safety for each person we pass,

In a world where if we go any where it is seen as a trespass.

Alas each night we look out from our windows and dream of a more hopeful time,

and staring up to starts we can shift our own personal paradigm.

Lights in the night sky show the strength that everyone has shown,

That we have all reached a new normality, and although we can't see each other face-to-face,

Deep down we know we are not alone.
